Everyone seems crazed about India all of a sudden, as if they’ve just discovered the wonders of Bollywood and fine materials. Obviously, it’s been there forever and people have always been inpired by it, but it’s probably me who’s only just noticing these things. First there was the Gaga Monster invasion on the country when they made a Bollywood version of “Born This Way”. she seemed to bring some of that spice back to America with her, because then I learned that Jared Leto spent his bday there in an interview where he talked about Indian music inspiration and collaborations etc. Then there was the Chanel Couture show this year. I was flicking through pictures and thinking “Hey, that head piece looks pretty Indian…in fact so does the outfit”. Yeah, Karl Lagerfeld was inspired by the beautiful country’s tradition and culture too. But it still looks SOO CHANEL. Which I love.
Oh and that massive table around the runway was meant to represent an Indian banquet table and the people watching the show sat around it (presumably eating yummy things - they have such good food at fashion shows sometimes)
