Monique Lhuilier Autumn/Winter 2012. I had a hard time writing down this designer’s name. I actually happens to me a lot - I have to look at their name about 5 times to make sure I’ve spelt it right. But, what do you expect with all the international talent in the world? Sure, it’d be easy if everyone had the same sort of name, but where’s the diversity in that? Sometimes a name can even add to the image of that fashion house or the reputation of a designer. I remember when I found out that Mulberry had named one of their bag, “The Alexa” after Alexa Chung and I know why. Because, I don’t know about you, but I find that whenever I hear the name Alexa I think about Alexa Chung and then tomboyish chic and all things British and cool. Or maybe I just think weirdly.
