I literally fell off my chair when I saw the new collection for Prabal Gurung (Autumn/Winter 2012). You see that animal skull print on the dress here? Yeah? It’s actually a print from a Georgia O’Keeffe painting and I was studying her in art and HOYL SHIT, FUCKING COINCIDENCE OR WHAT. Plus I love Georgia O’Keeffe’s skull paitings; they’re really surreal and beautifully painted. I saw O’Keeffe’s images on Gurung’s mood board as well - oh I love mood boards. But, it’s really interesting to see how things inspire people in different ways, for Prabal Gurung the O’Keeffe work translated into beautiful clothes and for me contributed towards my art research.
